What Changed From Older Deloitte Test Formats
Students who’ve read older preparation guides or asked seniors from 2020-2022 batch drives will sometimes encounter a different picture. Two things in particular are worth correcting before you prepare.
Group Discussion and JAM rounds are gone. The Group Discussion (GD) and Just A Minute (JAM) rounds that appeared in Deloitte campus drives until roughly 2021 are no longer part of the standard process. The 2026 process moves directly from the online assessment to a combined technical-plus-HR interview.
The coding section is now part of the online test for off-campus candidates. In older formats, Deloitte’s online test was entirely aptitude-based. Off-campus drives now include a Programming Skills section. Campus drives at most colleges still run the three core sections only, but check your placement cell notice to confirm.

Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning runs the same 35 minutes for 25 questions. This section tests pattern recognition, structured deduction, and rule-following, not formula recall.

- Pattern Recognition (visual and letter-based sequences; identify the next term given the governing rule)
- Data Sufficiency (determine which combination of statements makes a claim provable, without solving it directly)
- Blood Relations (decode relationship chains from multi-step verbal clues)
- Coding and Decoding (alphabetic shifts, symbol substitutions, word-encoding patterns)
- Number Series (arithmetic progressions, geometric progressions, mixed-rule sequences)
- Logical Word Sequence (arrange words into a meaningful order based on a given rule)

Key Rules to Know Before Test Day
A few structural rules that matter on the day of the test:
- No negative marking applies to any section. Guessing costs nothing, so attempt every question.
- Individual section thresholds exist. Clearing the aggregate score without meeting each section’s minimum passing mark does not qualify you for the next stage. Confirm the current thresholds with your Training and Placement Officer before the drive, as Deloitte does not publish them officially.
- The test is fully online and proctored. You need a working webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection. Test your setup before the scheduled slot.
- Coding language choice (for off-campus candidates) includes C, C++, Java, Python, and C#, among others. The last version you submit is the one that counts; compilation output and test-case results are visible before final submission.
