AMCAT’s 2026 registration fee is ₹1,100 plus 18% GST, which comes to ₹1,298 all-in per sitting, per the official AMCAT help page.

The 2019 fee was Rs. 949. The increase came after SHL India acquired Aspiring Minds in 2019 and unified pricing under the myamcat.com platform. This article covers the full fee picture: what the base fee includes, which add-ons cost extra, how to pay, and what happens if you need to reschedule or retake.

For test pattern, eligibility, and slot availability, see the AMCAT exam dates, fees, pattern, and eligibility guide.

AMCAT registration fee in 2026

The fee structure is straightforward.

ComponentAmount
AMCAT base fee₹1,100
GST (18%)₹198
Total per sitting₹1,298
Score reportIncluded
AMCAT certificateIncluded
Job portal access (12 months)Included
Job recommendations via platformIncluded

One payment covers everything above. There is no separate charge for the score report or the certificate. The fee also activates your AMCAT profile on the job portal, where companies post roles and filter candidates by percentile score.

The AMCAT certificate is a shareable credential you can add to your LinkedIn profile or resume. It does not list a score; it confirms you sat the exam and completed the assessment. Some companies, particularly mid-size IT services firms and BPO recruiters, explicitly ask for the certificate during background screening.

The feedback report is more useful for preparation than the certificate. It breaks your performance down section by section and tells you which percentile band you fell into for each module. If you’re planning a retake, the feedback report is the primary document to work from. Review it before deciding whether to aim for a different score band or add a domain module you skipped the first time.

Coupon codes are occasionally available on the AMCAT offers and discounts page. If a valid code is available, apply it at the payment step during booking to reduce the amount due.

Optional add-ons and how they’re priced

The base fee covers three compulsory aptitude modules and the Personality Inventory. It does not cover everything on the AMCAT platform.

Optional items that carry separate charges:

  • Domain modules — Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, and others. Companies hiring for technical roles often filter by domain score, so CS/IT students targeting software roles typically add the Computer Science module. One domain module may or may not be bundled in the base fee depending on the registration path; verify at myamcat.com before booking.
  • AMCAT WriteX — A writing skills assessment added to the AMCAT bundle for roles requiring structured written communication, such as business analyst or technical writer positions. Priced separately; verify the current add-on fee at myamcat.com.
  • Communication tracker — Tracks English communication skills across sittings. Relevant for BPO, customer-success, and voice-process hiring. Not required for standard tech-role screening.

Add-on fees are revised periodically. Check current pricing during the booking flow at myamcat.com rather than relying on any third-party figure. For a topic-by-topic breakdown of what domain modules actually cover, see the module-wise AMCAT syllabus guide.

Payment modes AMCAT accepts

According to the official AMCAT payment help page, four modes are accepted:

  • UPI (any UPI-linked app, including BHIM, PhonePe, Google Pay)
  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Rupay)
  • Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Rupay)
  • Net banking (major Indian banks)
  • Paytm Wallet

The following are not accepted:

  • Cash at the test centre
  • Cheques
  • Direct bank transfers (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS)

If your payment fails after the amount is deducted, AMCAT’s help centre notes that some transactions take 24 to 48 hours to reflect. Wait for confirmation before attempting to pay again. If the issue persists, contact support at myamcat.com with the transaction reference.

Score validity, rescheduling, and retake rules

Your AMCAT score is valid for 12 months from the test date. Most companies that use AMCAT as a screening tool require scores dated within the last 12 months when you apply through the portal.

Two options exist once your subscription expires or if you want better scores:

  • Renew — Keep your existing scores active for another 12 months. This makes sense if your scores are competitive and you are still receiving interview calls.
  • Retake — Sit the exam again, at the same per-sitting fee. The minimum gap between two attempts is 45 days. If your scores were below the cutoffs of the companies you’re targeting, a retake after thorough preparation is the better call.

Rescheduling (changing your booked slot to a different date or centre) is possible and carries a rescheduling fee. Verify the current rescheduling fee at myamcat.com before assuming an amount, as it is subject to change. Do not book a slot speculatively if your availability is uncertain.

AMCAT’s no-refund policy

AMCAT does not offer fee refunds. If you register, pay, and then choose not to appear, the fee is forfeited. This applies regardless of the reason.

The practical implication: book a slot only when you have a specific test date in mind and your preparation is at a level where you would be comfortable sitting the test. The 45-day cooling window between attempts means there is no real cost to waiting until you’re ready. One well-prepared attempt beats two rushed ones.

How to register and complete payment: step-by-step

The booking flow at myamcat.com runs in six steps:

  • Step 1: Go to myamcat.com and create or log in to your account.
  • Step 2: Fill in your personal details (name, contact, stream, graduation year) and click Continue.
  • Step 3: Select your preferred city, test centre, date, and time slot. You can also choose to select a slot later.
  • Step 4: Add any optional domain modules or add-ons you need, then click Book.
  • Step 5: Choose your payment mode (UPI, card, net banking, or Paytm Wallet) and complete the transaction.
  • Step 6: Download your admit card from the dashboard. It is emailed to you after the payment is confirmed, which can take up to 48 hours for some transactions.

Print or save your admit card before the test day. Test centres require it alongside a government-issued photo ID.

Scores are typically available within 24 to 48 hours of completing the test. You will receive an email notification when your percentile report is ready. The report is accessible through your myamcat.com dashboard and forms the basis for job recommendations the platform sends you.

AMCAT fee compared with other placement test fees

For reference, the fee range across platforms commonly used for fresher hiring in India:

PlatformApproximate fee (2026)
AMCAT (myamcat.com)₹1,298 all-in
eLitmus pH Test₹250 to ₹400 (varies by city)
CoCubes (now part of HirePro)Often sponsored by the employer or college

The eLitmus fee is lower, but company acceptance differs. For a side-by-side breakdown of which companies accept which platform’s scores, see the AMCAT vs eLitmus comparison.

AMCAT’s compulsory aptitude sections test reasoning and English; domain module content varies by role, with computer science and analytics modules covering topics that overlap with AI application fundamentals. If you’re targeting product-company or analytics roles through AMCAT, the ₹1,298 sitting fee is a small upfront cost. The larger question is whether your preparation extends beyond the exam itself. A percentile puts your profile in front of companies; the 45-day window before a permissible retake is enough to build something demonstrable. TinkerLLM (₹299) is a low-commitment way to do that. One deployed LLM project is more useful in a Cognizant or Mindtree interview than a five-percentile score bump. The 2026 AI roadmap for Indian engineering students maps the full sequence.

If you are comparing AMCAT with eLitmus or other aptitude-based hiring platforms, the AMCAT vs eLitmus comparison covers the differences in module structure and company acceptance.
